Rabbit Vest (detail)

A JPEG Picture of a detail of the front of the Rabbit Vest

Diane's Notes on Rabbit Vest:

A Client's request for a vest design set off another series that now numbers an even dozen.

Because durability was of prime importance, I was forced to change my focus from long floating pattern stitches to more traditional tent stitch. The new challenge was shading and incorporating pattern using tent stitch.

The rabbit uses a technique called tweeding, stitching with two different colors in your needle at one time.

The Front (Click on picture to change views)
The small rose wall paper-like pattern exhoes the large rambling wild roses decorating the edge.
The Back (Click on picture to change views)
The rose patterned shawl is counted from a chart and the blanket the rabbit is sitting on is done free form as one might paint (as Kaffe Fasset might do).
