Double Peoney

Diane's Notes on Double Peoney:
- The blue and white were chosen because of the traditional blue and white porcelins
- The Double Peoney quilt design is repeated in the blackwork on the fan.
- I had experimented with blackwork stitches in white on navy, finding that tracking on such a dark color was very difficult
- Oriental textiles often have a large curvilinear motif "splashed" onto a geometric patterned background
- The border of the quilt block somewhat simulates half a Lone Star quilt design and the pattern on her skirt is a variation of the Baby Block quit design.
