Once I developed the simple quilt stitch (see the quilt stitch sampler), I was able to duplicate the entire quilt instead of a single block.
This was also one of my first designs that incorporated words -- the font chosen from an antique sampler (preceeded the CyberSampler).
Here, I worked a bit with texture (high/low) on the hat, the candle, the raised drippings against the tent stitched candle, and the words raised above their background using the Smyrna Cross.
