| Canvas | This project requires two pieces of 12-count canvas, each 18" x 30". An orange line interlock would be a good choice. Be sure to cut the pieces so the selvege runs in the long direction. Prepare the canvas pieces by folding masking tape around the bare edges. |
| Yarn | Our vest was stitched with Paternayan Persian yarn, so these are the reference numbers we give. You can certainly translate to equivalent colors in other brands. Detailed information about the particular yarns and estimated amounts are given in the acrobat materials document. You'll be stitching with two strands. Some of the colors called for are a blend, where you use one strand of each color. |
| Tools | We'd recommend that you stitch this on a frame, as the shape of the resultant piece is important in creating a correct vest. A roller frame works especially well due to the large size of each side. |
