" Linda Lachance, the designer, started her business, Northern Pine Designs, in 1987, initially with her line of counted cross-stitch designs.

The business has grown to include many different charted canvaswork (needlepoint) designs which incorporate a variety of wonderful threads, stitches and textures in the creation of geometric designs.

One of the most popular themes is the series of canvaswork butterflies which have inspired stitchers everywhere. Many of the designer's themes are drawn from nature and the idea of "windows" is found throughout her work. "
