New Zealand based online shop for needlework designs for many techniques
about eneedle
Who we are
eneedle is owned by two New Zealand businesswomen and stitchers, Adele Dimopoulos (adele@eneedle.com) and Christine Moriarty (christine@eneedle.com).
Adele previously owned an Internet development company in Wellington, New Zealand. Christine previously owned an embroidery shop in Wellington, Nancy's Embroidery. Nancy's is still there in Tinakori Road right behind the city, and is well worth a visit if you are coming to Wellington.
Adele knits, sews and embroiders. Christine does the lot Ð she is an accomplished stitcher, a stitchery teacher, and holds a London City and Guilds Diploma in Creative Studies.
Why eneedle
eneedle came about because Adele had trouble easily sourcing many of the materials and kits she saw in overseas needlecrafts publications. Going to the bank or post office for a postal order was time consuming, faxing through credit card details is not particularly secure.
At much the same time Adele's Internet development company was building a secure transactional web site for a major New Zealand bank, as well as secure sites for a number of other clients.
So that triggered a series of thoughts, then research, then planning <ETH> and finally eneedle is here. It is a fully transactional and very secure. eneedle does not hold your credit card numbers. It doesn't even see your credit card number.
What's in eneedle
Adele and Christine have a three-fold vision:
- To provide stitchers around the world with convenient access to a wide range of high quality needlecrafts patterns and kits in one easy to remember centralised resource
- To provide smaller designers with a global market for their wonderful designs
- To provide shops with more custom Ð if you have a local needlecrafts shop, then go there to buy your fabric and threads to make up your eneedle pattern. If you are not already doing so, start going to classes at your local needlecrafts shop.
