The Needlepointed Poppy Vest Project

This vest is needlepointed on 12 mesh canvas. In this almost totally tent stitched design, the decorative spider stitch sneaks in as the center of the poppy.

The design is different on each side of the vest making both the stitching and the final product more interesting.

This needlepoint is stitched from charts on 12-mesh interlock canvas. The vest is 24 inches from the shoulder seam to the hemline, and 12.5 inches across from the center front to the side seam. The deep arm holes and the ablity to vary the size of the back makes this pretty much a one-size-fits-all pattern.

It uses 20  independent colors plus 13 blends. Ours was stitched using Paternayan Persian yarn, and the particular yarn numbers are provided  in the instructions.
